The SAFE Foundation (The Foundation for Safer Athletic Fields for Everyone), which is SFMA’s charity raised more than $40,000 during the SFMA Annual Conference and Exhibition, held last month. The monies raised will fund scholarships, grants, research, the Student Challenge and educational outreach in 2020. The events that raised funds included a live and silent auction, a raffle, and golf and bowling tournaments.
SAFE will be soliciting proposals for sports field research projects and will be developing resources to educate coaches, parents, athletes and others on field safety.
