Five SFMA members have already earned a microcredential in sports field drainage. The microcredential is a way for members to enhance their education in specialized topics. Those completing the microcredential will be asked to read technical articles and watch presentations. The microcredential will culminate with a test where a passing score earns a digital badge.
Our participants agree that the microcredential is a great opportunity to show superiors they are willing to stay up-to-date on our changing profession. It can be used as a way for established professionals to continue their education or for those entering the industry, such as students, to specialize in a certain topic. One of our participants stated, “Once I started going through the education portions, I realized that it was filled with good information, some of it was a good review and some things that I had never thought about or heard before.”
