SFMA’s Conference Education Committee is working hard to put together another fantastic education program.  The 2020 Conference will have 7 tracks focusing on the different aspects of sports field and facility management.

• The Turfgrass Management track will address bermudagrass cultivars and management, traffic stress tolerance studies, and maximizing cool-season grass inputs. This track discusses cultural practices to benefit cool-season, warm-season and transition zone turfgrass managers.
• Professional Development focuses on communication and decision making, work/life balance, and developing and enhancing your public image.
• The Soil Science track offers sessions on managing the nutrients needed to successfully manage athletic field rootzones.
• The Water track will focus on troubleshooting irrigation system electronics and hydraulics, smart irrigation and how to conduct irrigation audits to track water use.
• The Pest and Environmental Issues track will provide strategies for fungicide and disease control, weed control, shade stress and bio-control of pests.
• Baseball will cover field renovation and construction of existing and new fields. Additionally, the influence weather has on management and game-time decisions will be featured.
• The Synthetic track will feature sessions on installation and maintenance and how to approach the specification process and project management. Field testing will also be included.
