Wake Forest – Turf Internship Program

Wake Forest University is currently seeking an intern to assist with routine maintenance of the university’s athletic fields and golf facility. This position will be a hand’s on experience where the individual will be introduced to every aspect of athletic field maintenance, golf course maintenance, and equipment maintenance and repair. Internship will run from May to August but can be flexible if needed.

Duties/Responsibility Include:
Mowing, painting and layout of fields, cup cutting, mound work, hand watering, spraying, sprayer calibration, topdressing, grooming, verti-cutting, aerification, equipment maintenance/reel grinding, irrigation repairs, pest and disease management, general athletic field and golf course maintenance

Athletic Fields
15 Acres of Bermuda grass fields, and 11 acres of synthetic fields, the candidate will be responsible in assisting with the maintenance of Spry Stadium, and practice fields, BB&T Stadium, Doc Martin Football Complex, McCreary Field House, David Couch Ballpark, Kentner Stadium, Tennis Complex, Intramural fields

Arnold Palmer Golf Complex
15-Acre state of the art Arnold Palmer design facility includes bermudagrass fairway and tees. This also includes 1 Tifeagle bermuda green, 1 Miniverde Bermuda green, and 2 A1, A4 bentgrass greens along with 24 bunkers.

The candidate will be able to explore and gain knowledge in athletic field management and golf course management for a unique opportunity.

*Campus housing will be provided along with an hourly wage of $10.50/hr.*
