The Spray Technician, under the supervision of the Golf Course Superintendent or Golf Course Foreman, performs pesticide applications on borough properties. The spray technician is responsible for reading, understanding and keeping current with pesticide labels and Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS). The spray technician must be able to detect and identity disease and pest problems including the potential for the same.

The Spray Technician must also:

Perform routine safety inspections and calibration of all pesticide handling equipment.
Maintain storage and mixing areas in compliance with all regulations.
The Spray Technician must complete all training requirements required to apply pesticides
The Spray Technician must be able to make applications on a flexible schedule.
The Spray Technician must also be able to perform all other functions of golf course maintenance as directed.
The Spray Technician must also be able to work weekends as part of the regular work week.


Knowledge in the safe mechanical operation and calibration of the types of equipment used for turf and ornamental application.
Two years working on a golf course.


A new Jersey Pesticide Applicators License including categories 3A and 3B
Complete knowledge of chemical application equipment.
A degree in Turf grass Management would be beneficial.

Starting $49,907 (Step 1) Final $69,275.66 (Step 10) plus overtime
