Assistant Field Superintendent – Cross Country

Oklahoma State University Athletics Center is seeking applicants for the position of Assistant Athletics Field Superintendent- Cross Country in the Facilities Department. Assist the Field Superintendent in overseeing all aspects of maintenance and upkeep of the Cross Country fields and grounds as well as all associated equipment.  This includes management and supervision of maintenance staff.  Assist in overseeing maintenance and regulations of fields. Cross train other supers and help as needed on other Athletic Village fields and grounds.

This position will be required to work in inclement weather, and beyond normal work hours (8 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday through Friday), including weekends. This position will be exposed to work with pesticides and chemicals. Normal work hours are 8 a.m.-5 p.m. but Athletics events and practices are often after 5 p.m. or before 8 a.m. and/or on weekends. Flexible schedule may be required as determined by needs and supervisor. Some travel is required in performing this job.

Required qualifications Associate’s Degree in Turfgrass Management or a related field. Three years experience in groundskeeping at a college or professional venue or associated field.  Prior completed internships can be substituted for post-graduate experience at the discretion of the Athletic Fields Superintendent.  Education may be substituted in lieu of years of experience. Valid driver license. Obtain within 6 months after hire: Spray License.
