Manager of Grounds and Environmental Management

The Maryland SoccerPlex is currently seeking an enthusiastic, positive, self- motivated individual to join the Grounds and Environmental Management (GEM) team as a Manager of Field Maintenance.  This individual should also be open-minded and environmentally conscious.

As Manager, this person will be managing a staff of 6-8, with the main focus being on day-to-day operations.  They also will carry out turfgrass management tasks such as mowing/spraying/ fertilization/aeration, irrigation repair/cycle programming, take part in field lay-out for soccer/lacrosse/rugby/football, and enforce an aggressive environmental management program. The manager will also take part in field renovation projects which may include seeding/sodding/sprigging, fraise mowing, as well as drainage installation.

The Maryland SoccerPlex is on the northwest side of Washington, DC in Boyds, Maryland.  The park is 162 acres and includes 22 full side soccer fields: 16 native soil tournament fields (11 Kentucky Blue/Perennial Rye & 5 Bermudagrass), 2 sand-capped bermudagrass fields , 3 synthetic fields, and the SoccerPlex Stadium (fibersand w/ Kentucky Blue/Perennial Rye).
