Park Specialist

Lee’s Summit Parks and Recreation is accepting applications for the full time position of Park Specialist within the Park Operations Division.

The Park Specialist performs a variety of duties involved with the maintenance and construction of City parks, sports fields, grounds and facilities, including landscape installation and upkeep, structure maintenance, basic playground repairs, minor carpentry, electrical and plumbing work, and special event preparation and support.

Minimum requirements include:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; and
  • Minimum one year experience in park maintenance or related field; and
  • Valid state driver’s license.

The preferred candidate will possess knowledge and experience of turf/grass maintenance, parks maintenance equipment, landscape maintenance and installation, hardscaping, and/or concrete/flatwork.

This is an hourly, non-exempt position that may require availability on holidays, evenings and weekends. Salary begins at $15.34 per hour and includes a competitive benefit package.
