POSITION: TURF EQUIPMENT TECHNICIAN
REPORTS TO: TURF MANAGER
DEPARTMENT: STADIUM OPERATIONS- TURF

GENERAL PURPOSE
Provides care, maintenance, and management of all turf equipment at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides general maintenance of machinery including but not limited to: monitors and changes fluid levels on machinery, sharpening blades, greasing pivot points, cleaning and
    changing filters, etc., on a routine and/or daily basis.
  • Stages equipment to be used for duties as assigned by Director.
  • Orders machinery parts, fuel, lubricants and any other items needed for equipment on a routine basis.
  • Experience with general welding.
  • Repairs broken equipment and provides general labor as needed.

OTHER DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY DUTIES

  • None.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • Knowledge, Skill and Ability:
  • Solid knowledge and skill in maintaining, repairing and managing turf machinery and equipment.
  • Ability to work a varied schedule to include weekends, evenings and holidays as needed.
  • Ability to acquire or produce and maintain a valid Colorado drivers license and meet company vehicle driving standards.

Education or Formal Training:

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.

Experience:

  • Three to five years experience in repairing, managing and maintaining machinery and equipment typical in a turf management operation.

Material and Equipment Used:

  • General office equipment including copier, fax, phone, computer/keyboard, etc.
  • Company vehicles, fork lift, heavy machinery and general turf maintenance equipment.

Working Environment/Physical Activities:

  • Walk, sit, climb or balance, taste or smell, up to 1/3 of time.
  • Stand, talk or hear, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, 113 to 2/3 of time.
  • Use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, 2/3 or more of time.
  • Lift up to 50 lbs, 1/3 to 2/3 of time.
  • Lift up to 10 or 25 lbs, 2/3 or more of time.
  • Clear vision at 20 inches or less and at 20 feet or more.
  • Three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships.
  • Ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus.
  • Work in non-weather wet, humid conditions, outdoor weather conditions, extreme non-weather cold and heat, up to 113 of time.
  • Risk of electrical shock 1 /3 to 2/3 of time.
  • Work near moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and vibration 2/3 or more of time.
  • Moderate to loud noise.
