2019 Great Lakes Loons Grounds Internship

The Great Lakes Loons are looking for qualified individuals who would like to pursue a career in sports turf management, candidate must be enrolled in a 2 or 4 year turf management program, or similar. A baseball background is preferred but not required. The position is paid hourly ($12.50/hour, 40-hours a week) and will receive meals during games/events and uniforms (hats and shirts). Housing is not provided, but can assist in finding housing. Start date of the job will be March 18th and will last until September 20nd, start and end dates can be flexible if needed.

Candidates must be able to: lift 50lbs, stand and walk for extended period of time, work long hours including night, weekends and holidays, be able to multitask and work in a fast paced environment, strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills. Also must be able to pass a background check.

Duties for this position will include, but not limited to: mowing, edging, sodding, clay and infield skin maintenance, small engine work, operating and repairing the irrigation system, applying fertilizer and other chemicals, tarp pulls, pre- and post-game set-up and other duties as assigned.
