Assistant Facility Superintendent

Job Description:

  • Full time position that would assist Facility Superintendent in set up and maintenance of ~180A of youth athletic playing surfaces (baseball, softball, soccer, lacrosse, football, rugby).
    • includes but not limited to: mowing schedules, irrigation schedule(s)/repairs, fertilizer/pesticide applications, minor construction and project management, routine and cultural maintenance of the fields as well as general equipment maintenance.
  • help hire, train, coordinate and supervise facility staff
  • Mound/plate/infield maintenance and repairs
  • equipment maintenance and product tracking/ordering
  • turf equipment operation (aeration, seeding, fertilizing, etc..)
  • Assist in monitoring of facility buildings, perform routine maintenance, repairs and winterization (where applicable)
  • Volunteer and part time staff oversight

Qualifications:

  • 4 year college degree in the field of Turf Management and/or 2-year Associates/specialized turf degree.
  • have or have ability to obtain an Indiana Pesticide License within six months of being hired.
  • Able to pass a background check
  • Clean driving record
  • Ideal candidate must possess a highly motivated work ethic, ability to work independently with little supervision, needs to be able to give and receive directions as this is a managerial position.
  • Candidate will posses the ability to lift 50lbs multiple times per day, have no physical restrictions with bending over fully, digging, trenching, etc..
